My name is Claire Love. I am a PhD student at George Mason University. I am a 20th century Americanist with interests in culture and gender. I am particularly interested in domesticity and the domestic ideal in the United States during the 1950s and 60s, especially in relation to concurrent gender roles and their ties to national identity. I have also studied American Radical Feminism in the 1960s and its ties to the Chinese Communist Revolution.
Currently historiclove.com is host to my blog, The Past Inside the Present, where for the time being I am mainly recording my thoughts on my digital history coursework. In time I may also catalog other work and research. The rest of the site itself is a work in progress. I can be reached at clove1@gmu.edu.
